"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending." - C.S. Lewis
Mainly, I am a listener. I offer a non-judgmental approach to counseling that includes utilizing a unique type of therapy called Hakomi. You can learn about Hakomi at www.hakomiinstitute.com. I help you question your thoughts and beliefs. Sometimes, people just need to be heard and that's what I consider myself to be good at doing - being a witness to your life. I am an animal lover, a happily imperfect person, and someone who strives to help you feel like you can accept yourself right now.
Mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy is an evidenced-based treatment approach. I also utilize the therapeutic modalities of Internal Family Systems (IFS), schema and narrative therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Some of the issues I am experienced in treating include:
Depression, anxiety, PTSD, LGBT issues, self-harm, relationship issues, break ups, divorce, panic attacks, mid life issues, adjusting to single life, parenting issues with adolescents, domestic violence, career planning for college or career changes.
I can do Myers-Briggs and Strong Interest Inventory testing to help you understand what careers are a good fit for you.
Email is the best way to reach me since I am often in a session.
